Melbourne: Life is very unpredictable and it takes unexpected turns. Former Sri Lankan international Suraj Randiv, who was a part of ICC 2011 World Cup squad, is now working as a bus driver in Australia to make his ends meet.
Randiv works for a French company called Transdev which operates in Melbourne and employs around 1200 drivers.
Not only Randiv, even his fellow cricketers Chinthaka Jayasinghe of Srilanka and Waddington Mwayenga of Zimbabwe are working as bus drivers for the same company.
Randiv has played 12 Test matches for Sri Lanka , 31 ODIs and 7 T20Is while picking 43 wickets, 6 wickets and 7 wickets respectively between 2009 and 2016.
Randiv currently plays at a local club in Melbourne and represents Dandenong Cricket Club, which is affiliated with Victoria Premier Cricket and takes part in Cricket Australia State Competitions.
