In this era of internet, the speed of data is something that concerns every internet user. China has recently launched the fastest internet in the world and the speed is such that you can easily download 150 HD movies in just of second.

Even though this sounds something unbelievable, China has managed to introduce the ‘fastest internet’ in the world and the speed is 1.2TB per second (1TB= 1024GB).  As reported by The South China Morning Post, this internet speed surpasses major internet routes by more than 10 times. This initiative is a result of partnership between China’s Tsinghua University, Huawei Technologies, China Mobile and Cernet Corporation.

The network of this internet stretches across 3000 kms and connects major cities in the country like Beijing, Wuhan, and Guangzhou. This is a result of a decade-long initiative and the most recent advancement of CERNET (China Education and Research Network). The operations of the high speed internet started in July while its official launch was on Monday.

Speaking about the new network, Xu Mingwei of Tsinghua University said that it can carry ten times more than the regular network and this makes it cost-effective and manageable.

This blazing fast internet will be important in accelerating the growth of digital landscape in China. High speed internet can boost education, research, healthcare, business and many more fields.
