Containers where workers lived catch fire in Odisha’s Cuttack

Cuttack: The containers where workers used to live caught fire on Tuesday early morning in Odisha’s Cuttack district. The incident occurred in the Jagatpur of the district.

According to sources, the containers caught fire at around 3 am in the morning. In the fire, nearly six containers reduced to ashes.

After receiving information about the incident, fire service personnel from Buxibazar and Chauliaganja area of the Cuttack town reached the spot and doused the fire. However, the cause of fire is not known yet.

Further investigation into the matter are awaited.

In a similar instance yesterday, a massive fire broke out at the regional office of Bank of India (BOI) following gas cylinder blast in Baripada of Odisha. As per sources, three employees have been rescued in injured state from the office.

On being informed, fire service personnel reached the spot and initiated operation to douse the flames. According to sources, the incident occurred following gas cylinder blast in the third floor of the building.

The injured were rushed to the nearby hospital, while efforts to douse the ablaze are underway.
