Devotees Climb 2800 ft To Offer Prayers at Naskoria Lord Shiva temple in Mayurbhanj

Mayurbhanj: The Naskoria Lord Shiva temple in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha is a unique place to pay visit. One needs to climb about 2800 feet to reach to the shrine.

Baba Bholenath is the epitome of hope and belief. Even though there are many famous temples in the country dedicated to Lord Shiva, this shrine is famous and known for its uniqueness.

Here, Baba Mahadev sits on the top of a huge mountain amidst nature. Devotees epithet the shrine as the Kapilash of Mayurbhanj. The uniqueness about the Shiv Pith is that devotees have to climb a 2800 feet to reach the temple and offer prayers to Lord Mahadev.

The temple is located at Naskoria Mountain near Gorumahisani mines under Rairangpur block of Mayurbhanj district. It is believed that Lord Shiva fulfils all the wishes of the devotees and answers their prayers here.

So, devotees in huge numbers go to offer prayers in this temple. Sources said no devotee who has ever come here gone empty-handed. All of their prayers have been answered. People from other states also arrive at the temple to offer prayers.

Mahashivaratri and Pana Sankranti is celebrated twice a year with great pomp and show in this temple. This year too marked the arrival of huge devotees despite covid-19 scare.
