Two New Nissan SUVs likely to launch in India in 2024
Nissan will likely launch two new SUVs in the Indian market in the upcoming year 2024. The Magnite facelift will launch first.
Nissan will likely launch two new SUVs in the Indian market in the upcoming year 2024. The automaker is reportedly working on introducing five all-new cars in the next two to three years. The upcoming launches by the company are expected to be a new midsize SUV, a seven-seater midsize SUV, and a budget-friendly MPV. The company is also working on an entry-level electric vehicle based on the CMF-A platform.
Nissan Magnite Facelift
Among the upcoming launches, the updated version of the Magnite will likely be the first to arrive. The Nissan Magnite is the only SUV on sale in India currently. Reports have suggested that the company will bring a facelifted version of the sub-four-metre SUV to the domestic market in 2024.
It is one of the VFM offerings in its segment and is expected to get cosmetic revisions and interior updates to extend the lifespan of the existing generation. However, no mechanical changes are likely as the existing 1.0L three-cylinder petrol engine may continue in its NA and turbo guises.
Nissan X-Trail
Based on the CMF-C platform, the Nissan X-Trail will be launched in the country via CKD route next year. However, Nissan has not made any official announcement regarding this yet. The rumoured Nissan X-Trail will be offered with the Mitsubishi Outlander and an innovative self-charging hybrid system. It will be powered by a 1.5L VC-Turbo three-pot petrol engine. Moreover, the motor will work with a second-gen e-Power system with a variable compression ratio.
Nissan currently offers the X-Trail in the global markets with a 2.4L four-cylinder NA petrol engine. The hybrid variant of the SUV has an all-wheel drive layout. Nissan might sale it only in its seven-seater configuration in India. It will rival the VW Tiguan and Skoda Kodiaq.
