Puri: Blood stain spotted at garbhagriha of Jagannath temple following men’s fight

Blood stain was reportedly spotted at the garbhagriha (sanctum sanctorum) of Jagannath temple in Puri following a fighting between two men including a servitor today.

Puri: Blood stain was reportedly spotted at the garbhagriha (sanctum sanctorum) of Jagannath temple in Puri following a fighting between two men including a servitor today.

According to sources, a sevayat (servitor) and a hawker had a fight over some unknown reason. Blood of one of them, who got injured in the fight, fell on the floor of the innermost sanctuary of the 12th century shrine.

The servitors had to perform the Maha Snana rituals (grand purification) to clean the entire floor of the innermost sanctuary and purify the place of worshiping, added the sources.

Meanwhile, the Singhadwar Police has detained both the servitor and a hawker to interrogate them over their fight.
