Athagarh: Police arrested at least three persons from Athagarh Sub Divisional Hospital in Cuttack district today after they attacked a doctor on duty alleging medical negligence over an accident patient’s death.
As per the report, at least two persons who sustained grievous injuries in a vehicle crash at Banakhandi area were brought to the hospital last night. While the doctor on duty at the hospital at that time namely, Alekh Kumar Bose treated one the other was referred to SCB Medical in Cuttack due to critical condition.
As the patient died en-route while being transferred to Cuttack, his family members created a ruckus at the Athagarh hospital and thrashed Bose mercilessly holding him responsible for the death.
Police rushed to the spot getting intimation on the disturbance and took three of the attackers into custody. Additional police forces were also deployed at the hospital to maintain law and order situation.
