Cuttack: The crorepati Additional Superintendent of Police, Communication, Tulasipur, Cuttack has been arrested by Odisha Vigilance on Wednesday.
The tainted Additional SP has been identified as Trinath Mishra.
As per reports, today Trinath Mishra, Additional Superintendent of Police (Addl. S.P), Communication, Tulasipur, Cuttack was arrested by Odisha Vigilance and forwarded to the Court of Special Judge Vigilance, Cuttack for possession of huge disproportionate assets, which he could not account for satisfactorily.
The Court has remanded him to judicial custody till 28.02.2022.
In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance P.S. Case No.13 dt.16.02.2022 was registered against Mishra and his spouse U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(b)/12 Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act-2018.
On the allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income by Trinath Mishra, simultaneous house searches were conducted on 15.02.2022 at 11 places in Cuttack, Khordha, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur and Nabarangpur district by 11 teams of Odisha Vigilance led by 3 Addl. Ss.P, 10 DSsP, 13 Inspectors and other staff conducted the search on the strength of Search Warrants issued by the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack.
After thorough search, inventory and further enquiry, the income, expenditure and assets of Mishra, were calculated and he was found in possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income to the tune of Rs.9 Crores (approx), which constituted 489% of his known sources of income. Investigation of the case is in progress.
