Automated E-mail alert facility in Orissa High Court

Cuttack: An Automated E-mail Alert Facility has been launched in Orissa High Court, Cuttack for faster distribution of case information to Government Departments.

According to reports, the Automated E-mail Alert Facility has been effective from November 1 through which the Government Departments registered in Case Information System (CIS) can get the Court’s Order/Judgment through e-Mail automatically as soon as an Order/Judgment is uploaded.

A Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) has also been prepared for the operation of newly launched Automated E-mail Alert Facility.

In this regard, the staffs of concerned sections of the Court have been directed to correctly tag the departments during filing/registration of cases.

They have also been directed to properly maintain the master data of all Government Departments of the State in the Case Information System (CIS) for smooth functioning of the E-Mail Alert Facility. It is further directed to add/update the details of departments such as nodal officer including e-mail ids and other relevant information.

In addition, the e-filing rules of cases in the High Court have been made mandatory for all departments of the state government. All departments of government will file cases through the e-filing portal.

The High Court has also stated that incase of any issue, the same can be reported to the concerned e-filing station.

It is pertinent to mention that earlier on Friday Advocate Aditya Kumar Mohapatra was sworn in as the new Judge of the Orissa High Court. On November 3, the President of India Ram Nath Kovind appointed him as the new Judge of High Court.
