Man argues with cop impersonating as judicial officer in Chandigarh, watch

A man was seen arguing with a cop following a traffic violation allegation recently in a video. The incident took place in Chandigarh on Monday. Later, the video of the incident went viral after getting posted to social media.

Gagandeep Singh posted the video to X through the handle @Gagan4344 on May 20 and so far it has garnered more than 1.4 million views. He wrote in the caption, “A video of Chandigarh recorded by a Traffic Police constable is going viral on social media! What do you think—who is wrong and who is right ??”

As we can see in the video the man stops his vehicle in an odd way on the road. Now, the traffic police reaches near him and asked to show his license alleging traffic violation. It can be seen that a black cloth was hanging in the car in such a way that the one or two digit of the Registration plate was not visible. Now, as the cop asks for license, the man denies to show. Later, as the cop asks about his identity, he impersonate himself as a judicial officer. Later, he talked with somebody over phone and then leaves the place.

Reportedly, the man who was impersonating as a judicial officer was arrested later.  He was arrested by the Chandigarh Police on Monday after the video went viral on social media.

The man was booked under sections 170 (personating a public servant), 186 (obstructing public servant in discharge of public duties) and 419 (cheating by personation) of the Indian Penal Code. The accused was also issued a challan for violating a red light signal and trying to hide the number plate which may be seen as tampering.
