Keonjhar: In a shocking incident, a woman sarpanch and her husband was killed in Keonjhar district of Odisha said reports on Thursday.

Reliable reports say that, the couple was killed and thrown away by the accused. Their bodies were exhumed from the well in the backyard well.

It is worth mentioning that, the woman Sarpanch killed in Keonjhar along with her husband. Reports say that the former woman sarpanch of K. Balipal Panchayat of Keonjhar, are suspected of being murder.

While Niranjan was the Gramarakhi of the Bula Fandi, his wife Rambha Patra was formerly the Sarpanch of K. Balipal in Kenjhar. It is suspected that some miscreants killed the two people and threw them into the well allegedly on Wednesday night.

Yesterday the villagers went to the house and knocked on the door, but no one heard or opened the door. Later, blood was found on the stick near the house.

After informing the local Soso police station and investigation has been started in this regard. The police reached the spot and recovered two bodies from the well.

Rambha and Niranjan’s son has lodged a complaint at the local police station. Police have recovered the body and are continuing further investigation. Who killed the two people, why the two of them were killed, the reason remains unclear.

An investigation by the Soso police is underway. The bodies have been sent for postmortem, further detailed reports are awaited in this matter. Following the incident, the locals are in a state of panic.
