Bhubaneswar: Veteran leader and Jatani MLA Suresh (Sura) Kumar Routray will campaign for son Manmath the BJD candidate for MP post in Bhubaneswar. Today while interacting with the media, Sura Routray said that he will no longer campaign for Congress. He said he will campaign for his younger son Manmath Routray in Bhubaneswar.
Congress expelled him from the party for 6 years for his indiscipline and anti-party activities on April 15, 2024. The party said, “Taking note of the complaints of indiscipline and anti-party activities, the Hon’ble Congress President has approved the expulsion of Shri Suresh Kumar Routray from the party for six years with immediate effect,” said a press release issued by the All India Congress Committee (AICC).
In response to this Sura Routray has written letters to Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Khadge on the issue of the expulsion. Sura further said that action was taken against him only out of jealousy.
He further said that he has been associated with Congress since the past 55 years. He further said that Congress party has been unjust towards him and has betrayed him.
