It is worthwhile to mention here that the farmers’ body has called for the state-wide bandh tomorrow to press its several demands including price, prestige and pension. Different organizations including the opposition parties of the state like Congress and BJP have announced their support.

The Home Department of the state government on February 18 had urged the Sangathan to desist from the bandh saying it would affect students who will appear for their annual high school certificate examinations beginning February 22. However, the farmer’s body defied the appeal and decided to go ahead with its plan.

Meanwhile, the state government has asked all the district collectors to take preventive measures to maintain law and order to ensure maintenance of essential services in view of the NNKS’ state-wide bandh.
