Temperature in Titlagarh hits season’s highest

Bhubaneswar: The day temperature in Odisha surged to this summer’s highest on Friday with Titlagarh town in Balangir district recording this season’s highest so far.

The regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in its Twitter handle informed that Titlagarh witnessed a temperature of 43.4 degree Celsius, this summer season’s highest so far.

A total of 8 places recorded temperatures of 40 degree Celsius and above today. They are Balangir (42.4), Boudh (41.0), Sonepur (40.4), Bhawanipatna (40.5), Jharsuguda (40.5), Talcher (40.2), and Sundergarh (40.0).

The mercury is likely to increase further as the weather department has already issued a yellow warning for scorching heat wave conditions in several parts of the State.

Yesterday too, residents of Titlagarh sizzled at a temperature of 42.2 degree Celsius as the mercury soared to 40 degree Celcius or above in 8 places of Odisha.
