STF seizes brown sugar worth crores in Khurda; 1 arrested
STF team of the Crime Branch has seized brown sugar worth Rs 1 crore from Simar-Banki road near Ostapur of Odisha’s Khurdha district.
Bhubaneswar: A Special Task Force (STF) team of the Odisha Crime Branch has seized 1100 grams of brown sugar worth Rs 1 crore from Simar-Banki road near Ostapur of Khurda district. The team has also arrested a man in this connection.
The arrested accused has been identified as Suresh Kumar Mohapatra Suria of Podadiha village under Baghmari police limits of the district.
According to sources, a raid was conducted by a team of STF on Simar-Banki road near Ostapur village on Saturday. During the search, brown sugar weighing 1100 gm, one motorcycle, and other incriminating materials were recovered.
Suresh will be forwarded to the court of District and Session-cum-Special Judge, Khurda. Investigation related to this matter is underway.
As per the reports, since 2020, STF has seized more than 70 kg of Brown Sugar, 202 grams of Cocaine, and more than 113 quintals of Ganja, 750 grams of opium in Odisha. The Special Task Force has also arrested more than 170 drug peddlers.
