Sr Servitor of Puri Jagannath temple Rajat Pratihari passes away at Mumbai

Mumbai: Senior servitor of Puri Jagannath Temple Rajat Kumar Pratihari passed away at a hospital in Mumbai after cardiac arrest.

He was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Mumbai and took his last breath today.

He was popularly known as Telegu Panda in Andhra Pradesha and Telangana. He used to provide services to the Pratihari Sebayat and Garabadu at the 12th century shrine.

He use to offer hospitality to the Telegu speaking devotees and dignitaries of the country and use to explain the glory of Lord Jagannath and Srimadir to them.

He use to work for the welfare of the Sebayats and apart from that he was the head of three Niyoga.

A pall of gloom has descended Puri town and also among the Sebayats.

His mortal remains will be brought down from Mumbai to his residence at Balisahi in Puri. Last rites will be performed at Swargadwar.
