Police issues traffic advisory in view of PM Modi’s roadshow in Bhubaneswar, check details

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate of Police today issued traffic advisory in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s roadshow in Bhubaneswar on May 10 (tomorrow).

Vehicular movement between the Mastercanteen Square to Vani Vihar and Vani Vihar to Mastercanteen Square has been banned till the completion of the PM’s roadshow, which is slated to begin at 6 PM.

  • No vehicles are allowed to ply on the Janpath Road i.e from Mastercanteen Square to Vani Vihar on May 10 from 2 PM till the end of road show.
  • No vehicles are allowed to ply on the Janpath Road i.e from Vani Vihar to Mastercanteen Square on May 10 from 4 PM till the end of road show.
  • Vehicles coming from lane/by lane are not allowed to avail the Janpath road from either side of Janpath from Mastercanteen Square to Vani Vihar.

It is to be noted here that the Special Protection Group (SPG) commandos along with the Commissionerate of Police reviewed security arrangement for the PM Modi’s roadshow.

As decided by the city police barricades will be erected on both sides of the road from Mastercanteen Square to Vani Vihar and the area will be declared no-fly zone. Besides, the entire stretch will be sanitized.

A total of 55 platoons of police force along with 5 DCPs, 10 Additional DCPs, 27 ACPs, 41 Inspectors, 180 other Officers will be deployed on both sides from Vani Vihar to Mastercanteen Square, informed Police Commissioner

Sanjeeb Panda.

Besides, as many as three units of anti-terrorist special tactical unit (STU) will be deployed and the entire roadshow area will be cordoned off by dog and bomb squads, he added.

Meanwhile, the State unit of BJP also has started its preparation for the mega roadshow of the PM in Bhubaneswar.

After having a night halt in the State Capital City, the Prime Minister is scheduled to address a public meeting in Balangir on May 11.
