Bhubaneswar: Odisha government will soon set up state’s second drug testing laboratory in Sambalpur for quality check of the medicines.
Odisha has its lone drug testing laboratory in the state capital city.
According to an official source, the state government has sanctioned Rs 8.33 crore out of total Rs 15 crore estimated for the project. The tender process for the proposed project will start very soon, added the source.
The sources further revealed that one-acre land has been identified at Singhpali near Kainsir Road in Sambalpur for the project.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, during his recent visit to Sambalpur on February 1, had laid the foundation stone for the much-awaiting project.
Once completed, the project will be a great benefit for people of Western Odisha where the drug samples can be tested with use of advanced technology by the skilled technicians.
