Banki: In a tragic incident, a boat overturned in Mahandi river of Odisha due to which one person has allegedly drowned said reports on Thursday. The youth went missing as the boat capsized in the river.
According to reports, while traveling in a boat with a few friends, the boat capsized in the middle of the river. The accident occurred in Sahanga Gopalpur village under Banki police station. There were five people in the boat.
According to reports, four of the friends swam and escaped whereas one other went missing. The local people are still searching for the missing youth. Firefighters have arrived at the spot. The local people have informed that the house of the missing youth is in Dhenkanal district of there Saptashjya area.
Reports say that the missing youth had gone to his friend’s house and then from there five of them had gone for a boat ride in Mahanadi river. The search operation is still underway by the firefighters. Detailed reports awaited in this matter.
