MP man extorts money in Odisha by posing as police officer, arrested

A man from Madhya Pradesh was arrested in Odisha on charges of extorting money in Jeypore of Koraput by posing himself as police officer.

Koraput: A man from Madhya Pradesh was arrested in Odisha on charges of extorting money in Jeypore of Koraput by posing himself as police officer. He has been identified as Bhagwaan Nath of Indore.

According to reports, the accused was extorting money from the locals in Sourasahi and Telisahi area of Jeypore town. However, a journalist who found Nath collecting money with police uniform informed the local police.

Soon, a team of cops from the Jeypore Police station reached the spot and arrested the accused. Police also seized several documents including aadhaar card from his possession. Later, he was forwarded to the court following his medical examination.
