Man dies, son critical in attack over past enmity in Odisha

Sambalpur: In a ghastly incident, a man died while his son sustained critical injuries after being hacked by a group over past enmity in Odisha’s Sambalpur district.

Four members of a family reportedly entered into the house of one Purnachandra Meher and attacked him and his son Bhagaban Meher by chasing them for their past rivalry at Kandhara village of the district.

Both Purnachandra and Bhagaban were rushed to Redhakhol Hospital for treatment. However, Purnachandra breathed his last while undergoing treatment while Bhagaban is battling for life.

Redhakhol police has initiated a probe into the crime. They have started a search operation to trace and nab the attackers who fled the spot after hacking the duo with sharp weapons.
