Paradip: Paradip Municipality celebrated the Local Self Government Day with a series of events to mark the event on Thursday.
School students from the town took out a rally through the town holding placards in the morning apprising the people about civic issues, which culminated at the Municipality office. Addressing the audience, the Chairman of the Paradip Municipality, Basanta Kumar Biswal spoke about the significance of the day.
Jagatsinghpur MLA Dr. Kulamani Samal, the chief guest at the event, felicitated the people who had participated in the events organised by the Municipality earlier in the day. He then inaugurated public toilets and community centers in different wards.
A programme in this regard was organised in the evening at Jaydev Sadan, which was attended by the minister of Aagriculture Dr. Damodar Rout, district magistrate Yamini Sarangi and Dr. Kulamani Samal.
