Cyber looters rob Rs. 43,000 from people in Odisha

A cyber fraud has robbed 43 thousand rupees from three head teachers by introducing himself as a BDO in Nayagarh district of Odisha

Nayagarh: A cyber fraud has robbed 43 thousand rupees from three head teachers by introducing himself as a BDO (Block Development Officer). The incident took place in Bhapur block of Nayagarh district in Odisha.

According to the available information, the robbers targeted the principal of the schools. While the principal of three schools got trapped. The cyber robbers first called these principals and identified themselves as Bhapur BDO and asked them to send money.

They instructed the victims to use YONO to send money. They were then asked to open the app and asked for the OTP number. The moment the OTP number was given, the money disappeared from the teacher’s account.

Reports say that the teachers have complained to the cyber police station and given a written notice to the police station.

A meeting of the teachers will be called and they will be warned not to be a victim of fraud, said the Block Education Officer of Bhapur block.
