Baby girl rescued in Koraput admitted to SCB

Cuttack: The baby girl rescued from Nilagiri forests in Koraput on Tuesday was admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for further treatment on Thursday.

She was brought by a special ambulance. A team of doctors, including two specialists, has been formed to treat the child.

The infant, who was found crying alone near her mother’s body, was undergoing treatment at Koraput district hospital as she had sustained some injuries on her body. However, she was referred to SCB after her health condition deteriorated.

According to sources, the haemoglobin level of the 18-month-old child has gone down.

State Women and Child Development Minister Prafulla Samal has announced that the state government would take care of the child until she turns 18.
