1 killed, 10 injured as bus hit truck in Odisha’s Angul district

Angul: In a fatal incident, one person was killed, while 10 others were critically injured after the bus they were travelling in hit a truck in Odisha’s Angul district. The incident occurred in National Highway Number 55 near Jarapada Chakk of the district.

According to sources, the bus was en route from Korba of Chhattisgarh to Puri when the bus collided head on with the truck. Following the incident, the driver of the bus was killed, while 10 others inside the bus were severely injured.

After receiving information about the incident, the police reached the spot and rushed the injured to the nearby hospital. The cops have also initiated a probe into the matter.

In a similar instance, 5 persons were killed while 30 others were injured when the bus named ‘Kalia Nana’ in which they were travelling fell off a flyover and fell 20 feet below near Barabati chhak in Jajpur district on Monday evening.

The road accident occurred when the driver of the bus lost control over the wheel when it was going to Digha in West Bengal from Puri.

Soon, the Fire Service along with the local police and people rescued the injured persons and admitted them at Dharmasala Community Health Centre (CHC). Later, many of them were shifted to SCB Medical College & Hospital at Cuttack as their condition deteriorated.
