Free Fire app disappears from Google Play store, Apple App store in India

Garena’s Free Fire app has suddenly been removed from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store in India. The iOS and Android users are now wondering about the reason the popular game app was removed.

The Free Fire game app has disappeared from the Play Store and App store from February 12. However, the company is yet to make any statement about the removal of the popular battle royale game from the Google Play Store and Apple App store. We expect the company to issue an official statement soon.

Now, only the Free Fire Max is available for download on the Google Play store while the Apple App store does not have either the Free Fire or the Free Fire Max for download.

This has generated many rumours among the gaming community and the fans of the popular online game. Some rumours have suggested that these games have been banned in India while some reports suggest that this is more of a technical glitch after the latest update.

But, these are mere rumours, so don’t take them seriously. Users should wait for the official statement of the developer or the Government of India. It is recommended that users do not accept any claims and instead wait for an official statement from Garena.

However, Garena and Free Fire India’s official social media accounts have not made a public comment on the situation yet. The Facebook account of Free Fire acknowledged the login issues in a post and said they were being investigated.

Although the Free Fire app is unavailable for download in India currently, players who have the game installed on their device can access it without any problem and it works fine.

In 2020, the Government of India banned hundreds of Chinese apps including the very popular PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite following the deadly Galwan clashes between Indian and Chinese forces.

After the PUBG Mobile game was banned under Section 69A of the IT Act, Free Fire gained popularity in India and become one of the most downloaded game apps.
