Puri Jagannath Temple shall be opened for darshan from 1 am onwards on January 1 with emphasis on proper dress code. 

Puri: As a welcome step for the devotees, Puri Jagannath Temple shall be opened for darshan from 1 am onwards on January 1 with emphasis on proper dress code. According to reliable reports, the famous Puri Jagannath temple shall be open for darshan from 1 am on January 1 in order to manage the crowd effectively.

The items such as Gutkha, Polythene, Beetle nut and pan shall be banned in the premises completely. Emphasis shall be laid on proper decent dress code from January 1, 2024. The devotees have been urged to adhere to the guidelines issued by the Temple Management said the Temple Administrator.

Jagannath temple dress code issue, temple administration urged servitors, hotels to create awareness among visitors. In a historic decision, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) October 9 made it mandatory for the devotees visiting the Puri Srimandir to wear ‘decent attire.’

As per the decision taken by the SJTA, the new rule of ‘decent attire’ to visit the Puri Srimandir will come into force from the New Year (January 1, 2024). The SJTA has also made elaborate arrangement to create awareness about the Jagannath temple dress code among the devotees.

The Chief Administrator of the Jagannath Temple urged devotees and the various Nijogs to carry flowers or bhoga in baskets. He urged the people to use bamboo baskets or cotton bags. He further said that people will be made aware of the new rules through social media and several other mass media. This will help make the Jagannath Temple premises clean.

Further it it worth mentioning that, no paan or gutkha shall be allowed in Puri Jagannath temple premises from January 1, 2024. There will be a strict crackdown on the tobacco consumers and a heavy fine will be levied. From January 1, paan or gutkha will be completely banned.
