Baripada: An Odisha vigilance raid has been conducted on an Assistant Engineer, Lift Irrigation in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha on Thursday.
Today a short while ago, Gora Singh, Assistant Engineer, Lift Irrigation, Muruda Section under Lift Irrigation Division, Baripada of Mayurbhanj has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance.
He was caught while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs. 5000/- from a Complainant for processing and submission of feasibility report for digging borewell on the land of his father, a beneficiary under BKVY (Biju Krushak Vikas Yojana).
The entire bribe money has been recovered from the possession of accused Singh, AE and seized. Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at three locations of Singh in Mayurbhanj district.
In this connection, Balasore Vigilance PS Case No 31dated 29.11.2023 U/S 7 PC Amendment Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against accused Singh, AE, Lift Irrigation. Detailed report is awaited.
