Bhanjanagar: A man’s wounded dead body was recovered from the roadside in Gramadevati village under Tarasingh police limits in Ganjam district on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Upedra Jani of Gramadevati village, who was missing from his house since Tuesday.
Reports say Upendra went missing after leaving his house on some work on Tuesday morning. As he did not return to home till late in the evening, his family members launched a frantic search in and around the village and reported the matter at Tarasingh Police Station the same day. However, Upendra’s dead body was found from a roadside in the village this morning. The bicycle of the deceased was also seen lying a few yards from the spot.
Tarasingh Police reached the spot, seized the dead body and registered a case of unnatural death in the incident.
Police said a case of murder could not be ruled out as the dead body had grievous head injury with blood stains all over the body.
