Bhubaneswar: In a ghastly incident, a liquor businessman was beaten to death by unidentified miscreants in Mochi Sahi near Station Bazar under Laxmisagar police station here this morning.
The deceased businessman has been identified as Kameswar Reddy.
According to the eyewitnesses, Reddy had an exchange of words with two persons, who are yet to be identified, over some issues. However, the argument took an ugly turn following which the duo attacked the businessman with a bamboo and fled the spot.
Kameswar was rescued by some passersby and was rushed to the Capital Hospital in a critical condition. Unfortunately, he died while undergoing treatment.
Tension run high on the premises of the Capital Hospital following the death of Kameswar.
On being informed, Laxmisagar police reached the spot and started an investigation into the matter. Police is searching for the absconding murderers.
