Irani honeytrap blackmailing case: One more member arrested

Bhubaneswar: One more member of Irani gang Debananda Jena has been arrested from Tomando area in Khordha for allegedly honey trapping and blackmailing several people. 

On Sep 15, A fresh complaint has been field against lady blackmailer Irani Patra and her husband Bapi alias Nishikanta Patra who have duped people of crores of rupees.

One Saubhagya Jena of Naragoda under the Tamando Police Station limits in Bhubaneswar filed a case against the couple.

In his allegation, Jena claimed that Nishikanta had demanded Rs 3.60 lakh from him to help his wife get jobs at the All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).

Out of Rs 3.60 lakh, Jena had paid Rs 1.6 lakh through PhonePe and Rs 2 lakh in cash as Nishikanta assured him the job saying that he is in touch with different Ministers.

However, Irani Patra and Nishikanta Patra issued threats to Jena after he asked them about the job. The couple also threatened Jena to file a false case against him.

With this fresh case, the number of complaint lodged against Irani Patra and Nishikanta Patra rose to four as three cases were already filed against them earlier.

Meanwhile, Irani Patra husband Nishikanta Patra to be brought in remand to question him over the honey trapping and blackmailing racket. The police will enquire about the bank transaction details, mobile chat and call CDR reports.

Noteworthy, the police arrested lady blackmailer Irani Patra and her three associates including her husband based on the complaint filed by a doctor on September 11.
