A huge crowd has been seen in the holy city of Puri for Jagannath darshan, said reliable reports in this regard on Monday. 

Puri: A huge crowd has been seen in the holy city of Puri for Jagannath darshan, said reliable reports in this regard on Monday. Reports say that, a large number of people have crowded around the Jagannath temple for the darshan. Lakhs of devotees have flocked to Puri on the occasion of Christmas.

Devotees have formed serpentine queues from the office of the temple to have darshan of the Lord. The AC tunnel was targeted to be fully operational by December 25, but it was not completed, so devotees are waiting for darshan in the old barricade system.

At 12:40 am that is past midnight, the door of the shrine is opened. At 5:30 am in the morning, Mangal Alati was performed and the general darshan started.

On the other hand, due to dense fog in Puri, devotees have been deprived of Nila Chakra Darshan for a long time. The sun was not seen even till 9:00 am. Large number of policemen have been appointed to maintain peace and order in front of the temple and inside the premises.
