Cholera cases in Rourkela on the rise, SCB doctors visit spot

In view of the rising cholera cases in Rourkela, a team of doctors from SCB Medical College and Hospital have visited the place. 

Rourkela: In view of the rising cholera cases in Rourkela, a team of doctors from SCB Medical College and Hospital have visited the place.

According to latest reports, the 5T chairman reviewed the cholera cases in Rourkela on Tuesday via video conferencing. As per reports, at least 13 people have lost their lives due to severe diarrhoea.

It is worth mentioning that within a week there have been 13 deaths due to the  cholera cases in Rourkela of Sundargarh district in Odisha. The situation has caused and alarm among local people.

The district administration along with the health department has initiated necessary precautions in this regard. Over more than 1000 people have been affected with diarrhoea in Rourkela. Reports say, a special team comprising of experts from Bhubaneswar has arrived in Rourkela to assess the situation. Yesterday the Health Director of Odisha shall visit Rourkela.

However it is worth mentioning here that, the exact reason behind the outbreak of Cholera is yet to be ascertained. Further details awaited in this matter.
