Online cab fare costs Rs 2,000 at Bengaluru Airport, Viral post leaves internet in shock

Everyone is well aware of the traffic issues in Bengaluru and residents of the metropolitan city often keep sharing the updates of the traffic jam in different areas. In order to cope with the traffic, many people prefer taking private cabs to reach there destinations. However, sometimes the prices of these cabs are quite unreasonable. In order to prove how unreasonable the cab prices can be, a X (former Twitter) user has shared the fare of Uber cab from Bengaluru Airport to south-eastern suburb of the city.

The user identified as Rajesh Bhattad took to his X handle and shared a screenshot of Uber charging Rs 2,000 for a trip from Kempegowda International Airport to the south-eastern suburb of Bengaluru. In the post, Bhattad also mentioned, “The Uber pricing past midnight from Bengaluru Airport to HSR.” He also thanked Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC).

The screenshot showed that an Uber Go trip to his home would cost him Rs 1,931, while it was Rs 1,84 for Uber Go Sedan and Uber Premiere. Furthermore, the price increased to  Rs 2,495 for an Uber XL.

The price has initiated an online debate on social media. After the post went viral, one person said, “Money is secondary, some part of your soul dies travelling to HSR from the airport.” While another X user wrote, “The airport buses 7 and 7A are quite convenient for anyone coming to HSR. They stop right at the BDA complex and then again at couple of other stops in HSR. Try it sometime.”
