Father refuses to buy iPhone 15 for daughter, she says he is “ruining” her life
A man took to his handle on Reddit to share his 11-year old daughter wanted an iPhone 15, and reacted when he denied her demand.
Over the past few years, the world has witnessed a massive hike in the interest of children into expensive gadgets. Circumstances like these often spark a disagreement between children and their parents. In a similar case, a man took to his handle on Reddit to share his experience with his daughter.
Therein, he shared how his 11-year old daughter wanted nothing but an iPhone 15. He also shared how she said that her father was “ruining” her life when he refused to buy her an iPhone 15.
Taking to the platform, the man wrote, “I have an 11 year old daughter. We gave her a phone two years ago. It was an old iPhone 8 of mine. She mainly uses it for calling, texting friends and social media.”
He further wrote, “Recently she’s been wanting a new phone because her phone was old and all her friends have new phones. So I thought the iPhone 13 would be a good option as it is 600 dollars, has good camera and battery life and looks the same as every other iPhone.”
However, the problems arose after his daughter was adamant on getting an iPhone 15 only. This was because the phone had a 120 Hz display and was suitable for playing console games.
When the man tried convincing her that an iPhone 15 would be a “waste of money,” she told him that he had “ruined” her life.
He wrote saying, “Honestly I think it is a waste of money and said no. My daughter then got mad at me and said I am ruining her life and that her best friend has an iPhone 15 pro max.”
Reddit users seemed unhappy about the whole situation. They took to the comments section of the post. One user wrote, “Who’s the parent? Don’t let your daughter guilt you into something, an iPhone 13 is still a new and good phone.”
Meanwhile, another user pointed out saying, “An 11-year-old does not need a thousand dollar phone.”
