Youth electrocuted to death after coming in contact with live wire in Paralakhemundi

Paralakhemundi: In a tragic incident, a 19-year-old youth died after he came in contact with a live wire in Paralakhemundi of Odisha’s Gajapati district.

According to sources, the youth, who hailed from Sagaon under Rayagada police limit, came in contact with a live wire at post office in Paralakhemundi. Due to high voltage of the wire, the youth died on the spot.

After receiving information about the incident, police reached the spot, seized the body and sent it to the Gajapati District Headquarter Hospital for autopsy. The cops have also initiated a probe into the matter.

In a similar instance earlier, two minors were electrocuted to death after they came in contact with live wire allegedly laid by the poachers at Hatlimunda forest under Ulunda police limits of Subarnapur district.

Sources say, the poachers had laid live wire in the jungle to kill the wild animals, when the minors came in contact with the electric wire and were charred to death. The father of one of the minors went to save both, but injured himself. On being informed about the incident, Ulunda police reached the spot and recovered the bodies and sent it for post-mortem and have started a probe into the matter.
