Uttarakhand tunnel rescue: 5 Odia workers to return to Odisha tomorrow

In a noteworthy mention, the five Odia workers who were trapped under the Silkyara tunnel in Uttarakhand will return to Odisha tomorrow.

Bhubaneswar: After a rescue mission that lasted for about 400 hours, the 41 workers trapped under the Silkyara tunnel in Uttarkashi were finally rescued last night. Among the 41 trapped workers, five were from Odisha. In a noteworthy mention, the five Odia workers will be returning to Odisha tomorrow, said reliable reports in this regard.

As per reports from reliable sources, the health of all the rescued workers is stable. However, they have been admitted to a local hospital for necessary check-ups and treatment. They will be kept under observation for 24 hours, post which they will return to their hometowns.

For the return of the trapped Odia workers to Odisha, the state government has made necessary arrangements. Following the directives of Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik, Ground Zero was being supervised by Labor Minister Sarada Nayak, where the inspection and assessment of the situation were conducted.

The five Odia workers trapped in the Uttarakhand tunnel collapse were:

  • Raju Naik from Mayurbhanj
  • Bisweswara Naik from Bangiriposhi
  • Tapan Mandal from Bhadrak
  • Bhagaban Bhadra from Nabarangapur
  • Dhiren Naik from Bangirposhi

Reliable reports state that they were safely rescued from the Silkyara tunnel in Uttarkashi after being trapped inside for 17 days.
