Sri Jagannath International Airport in Puri: IDCO invites tender, online application to begin from Feb 21

Bhubaneswar: Puri Sri Jagannath International Airport has taken a step ahead as the process for the tender has begun. The Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) has invited a tender for the construction of the airport.

The online application for tender will reportedly start from February 21 and technical bids will be opened on April 21, 2024.

As per the decision, a target has been set to construct the Puri Sri Jagannath International Airport with an estimated cost of Rs 2,203 crore within 1,095 days. The airport will be constructed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode.

“On behalf of Commerce & Transport Department, Govt. of Odisha, the Chief General Manager (P&C), IDCO, IDCO Towers, Janpath, Bhubaneswar invites International competitive bids in Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode in double cover system through online mode only,” read the notification issued by the IDCO.

It is to be noted here that the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) has given clearance in November late year for the construction of the international airport which is slated to be built on 1,164 acres of land. Out of this, 68 acres of forest and 221.48 acres are private in Sipasarubali and Sandhapur under Brahmagiri tehsil.
