Police Bust Bike Lifters Gang in Bhubaneswar, Arrest Three

Bhubaneswar: Police today busted a motorcycle lifting gang in the state capital and arrested three members of the gang. Police have also seized seven motorcycles from the gang members.

The accused have been identified as Krishna Das (31), Mark Pradhan (21) and Akshaya Pradhan (23). Police said that the accused were apprehended on the basis of a complaint lodged by one Samir Nayak whose motorcycle was lifted near a private hospital in Infocity area on March 26.

“Basing on the complaint we started an investigation and arrested the gang members. The gang is involved in lifting of motorcycles from several areas in Bhubaneswar. They used to target parking lots of private hospitals and offices of renowned companies,” said a police official.

Police said that the gang used to sell the stolen motorcycles in various parts of Kandhamal and Gajapati district. “So far we have found the involvement of the gang in five such cases in Bhubaneswar. Further investigation in the case is continuing,” added the police official.
