Soro: Tightening the noose around the necks of illegal drug traders in the state, Soro Police yesterday arrested two peddlers including a woman from Station Bazar area here and seized ganja weighing over 17 kg from their possession.
The held duo has been identified as Chhote Gupta and Julia Begum of Huguli area of the neighbouring West Bengal State.
The raid was conducted after Soro Police got a tip-off on the presence of the peddler duo near the Station Bazar area last afternoon. After cops detained the duo and conducted a search, two air bags-carrying a total of 17.6 kg ganja consignment was seized from their possession.
Police are currently quizzing the duo on their links in Soro area and will forward them to court once it is over, informed local SDPO.
