Khurda: On Wednesday Sangeeta Mohapatra, Jr. Engineer (JE), Khurda Block, Khurda district in Odisha has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance.
The raid has been conducted in her office while she was demanding and accepting bribe of Rs. 50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand) from a Complainant (Contractor) for passing final bills for release of payment in connection with a development work executed by the complainant.
The entire bribe amount has been recovered and seized from the possession of Sangeeta Mohapatra. Following the successful trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Mohapatra from DA angle.
In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance PS Case No- 7/2024 U/s- 7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against accused Smt Mohapatra, JE. Detailed report awaited in this matter.
