Odisha: Nandankanan Zoo to remain open on Christmas and New Year due to public demand

Bhubaneswar: The Nandankanan zoological Park in Bhubaneswar will remain open for visitors on Christmas and New Year with additional facilities due to public demand.

Though the zoo remains closed on Monday, the park authorities have announced that the zoo will remain open on the day for next two weeks as Christmas and New Year fall on Monday. Additionally, the authorities have revealed that the visitors can also book the entry ticket online or through WhatsApp to avoid standing in a queue for a ticket.

According to sources, one platoon of police will deployed to keep an eye on anti-social elements and ensure visitors safety.

Fire Service personnel and a medical team will also be present in the park to put check on any case of emergency.

At the same time, the zoo got its first pair of Livingstone’s Turacos along with two Wallabies, which were brought after a long period of 35 years.
