Odisha: 9 arrested by police for Digapahandi double murder case

Ganjam: As many as nine people have been taken into police custody for the now famous Digapahandi’s double murder case.

According to reports, the accused were given a ransom of 50,000 rupees for the task by the mastermind, Prashant Goud.

The ransom for the murder was given to three of the accused. Apart from whom, five other people were involved in the double murder as well.

Allegedly, the well-planned murder was the consequence of Prashant’s wife losing the previous Panchayat election. Iron rods, three bikes, stones and chunks of cement, that were supposedly the weapons used, have been confiscated by the police.

Post investigation, it has been found that Prashant Goud had been into illegal drug dealings since many years. The accused are to be presented in the court.

It is noteworthy that, two people had been bludgeoned to death in Ganjam district of Odisha on 24th April 2022.

The murder took place near Chasanimkhandi in Digapahandi block of Ganjam district.

The deceased have been identified as Sudarshan Suar and Sudhir Kumar Patra belonging to  Paljhadi village.

The two were returning to Bhishmagiri Patu village yesterday when some miscreants attacked and killed them down near Saura hill.

Shortly afterwards, some passersby spotted them and rushed them to the Digapahandi Hospital.

Both however died while undergoing treatment.
