Odisha: 67 new police posts approved for BDA enforcement squad, details inside

Odisha CM today approved the creation of 67 police posts in order to make the BDA enforcement squad for more effective and efficient work.

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) has taken the responsibility of reshaping Bhubaneswar with state-of-the-art facilities. Because of the ever-increasing population, various problems were arising in the enforcement work for the beautification of the city and the construction of various infrastructures. 

Hence, the Chief Minister of Odisha today approved 67 police posts for creation of the BDA enforcement squad. These posts will be created and filled by the State Police Administration.

The BDA enforcement squad shall consist of one Assistant Commissioner of Police, six Assistant Sub Inspector of police and 60 Police Constable posts.

The squad will work for the planned urban development in the city of Bhubaneswar. According to the proposal of the Bhubaneswar Development Authority, 25 Joint Teams and 5 Reserve Teams were required to materialize these works in the entire city.

Each team will have two police constables, an Assistant Commissioner, six Assistant Sub Inspectors for due coordination and supervision of the work. The team will facilitate and speed up the necessary steps required for removal of encroachments for various development works by the Bhubaneswar Development Authority.
