Life threatening attack on police ASI in Odisha, hospitalized

In a shocking piece of news, a police ASI in Odisha's Boudh district has been attacked. He has been badly injured and hospitalized.  

Boudh: In a shocking piece of news, a police ASI in Odisha’s Boudh district has been attacked. He has been badly injured and hospitalized.

A police officer was seriously injured in the attack in Dapla village of Boudh district, said reliable reports. The attack took place late on Wednesday night. He was transferred to the medical center at 7 am today. The police officer has been identified as ASI Kumud Bhoi. He is the ASI of the  Manamunda police station.

Kumud Bhoi was in charge of 112 emergency vehicles of Manmunda police station on Wednesday. On receiving a tip-off last night, Kumud Bhoi along with other employees went to Dapla village in 112 vehicles. Reports say that, 10 to 12 miscreants stopped a vehicle near the school near the village and attacked Kumud.

The ASI, was seriously injured in the attack by the miscreants. He was first admitted to Sonepur Medical Center. Later, as his condition worsened, he was shifted to Balangir Medical College and later to a private hospital. His health condition appears to be stable now, said latest reports.

Police officials have reached the spot and are investigating into the matter. It is not clear who the attackers were and why they attacked the ASI.
