Nominations Start For 4th Phase Elections In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The filing of nomination papers for six Lok Sabha and 42 Assembly seats in the fourth phase of elections in Odisha, slated for April 29, kickstarted on Tuesday.

As per the notification issued by the chief electoral officer (CEO), polling will take place in six Lok Sabha seats in Balasore (General), Bhadrak (SC), Jagatsinghpur (SC), Jajpur (SC), Kendrapara (General), Mayurbhanj (ST) and 42 Assembly seats under these constituencies in the fourth phase.

The filing of nominations will begin on April 2 and continue till April 9. These will be verified on April 10. The candidates can withdraw their nominations by April 12. As per the guidelines of Election Commission of India (ECI), the candidates have been asked to file their nominations between 11 am and 3 pm.

Given below are the 6 Lok Sabha constituencies and 42 Assembly seats under them:

Balasore:
Assembly seats: Badasahi (SC), Balasore (General), Basta (General), Bhogarai (General), Jaleswar (General), Nilgiri (General) and Remuna (SC).

Bhadrak:
Assembly seats: 
Basudevpur (General), Bhadrak (General), Bhandaripokhari (General), Chandbali (General), Dhamnagar (SC), Simulia (General) and Soro (SC).

Jagatsinghpur:
Assembly seats: 
Balikuda-Ersama (General), Jagatsinghpur (General), Kakatpur (SC), Nimapara (General), Niali (SC), Paradip (General) and Tirtol (SC).

Jajpur:
Assembly seats: 
Barchana (General), Bari (General), Binjharpur (SC), Dharmasala (General), Jajpur (General), Korei (General) and Sukinda (General).

Kendrapara:
Assembly seats: Aul (General), Patkura (General), Kendrapara (SC), Mahanga (General), Mahakalapada (General), Rajnagar (General) and Salepur (General).

Mayurbhanj:
Assembly seats: 
Baripada (ST), Bangiriposi (ST), Jashipur (ST), Morada (General), Rairangpur (ST), Saraskana (ST) and Udada (ST).
