Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Department on Sunday issued thunderstorm and lightning alert for seven districts in Odisha.
The alert has been issued for Balangir, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Nuapada and Sambalpur districts. The IMD forecasted that thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and light to moderate rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places over these districts between 2.30 pm and 6.30 pm on Sunday.
The IMD further predicted that moderate rain or thundershower is likely to occur at a few places in north coastal districts and at one or two places south coastal and north interior Odisha on March 4.
Due to rainfall in some coastal and southern pockets in the last few days, there has been a marginal fall in temperature in the state. The regional MeT department stated that ‘Kalbaisakhi’ or Nor’Wester rain will continue in Odisha till March 6.
