Jajpur: Dharmasala police busted an interstate gang of dacoits and arrested four of its members near Deuli hills in the area last night.
Police have arrested the mastermind of the gang identified as Amar Soalnki, a native of Maharashtra. The other gang members nabbed have been identified as Naresh Pradhan, Sandeep Bhoi and Babusan Swain.
Police have also seized a country-made pistol, five rounds of bullets and other sharp-edged weapons from the accused. Police said that Solanki is involved in several criminal cases in Odisha and other states as well.
“Solanki was injured in a police encounter in Puri district last year. We are further verifying the antecedents of the other accused,’ said a police official.
