GRP, Sambalpur Arrests Two For Loot On Running Trains

Sambalpur: The Government Railway Police (GRP) with the help of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) has arrested two persons for allegedly looting passengers on running trains.

Police have seized gold ornaments weighing 31 grams, bank passbook and ATM cards from the possession of the accused identified as Sanjay Senapati and Subala Panda. Police have also arrested another man for accepting the stolen articles.

Police said that a passenger travelling on the Puri-Surat Express has lodged a complaint about the theft of his luggage near Sambalpur railway station on Friday. “Acting on the complaint we managed to nab both the accused. Further investigation is continuing to verify their antecedents,” said an official.
