IMD predicts heavy rainfall in Odisha in next 24 hours

rainfallBhubaneswar: Odisha could experience heavy to very heavy downpour at several places in the next 24 hours as per the latest bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday. According to the weatherman’s prediction, rain would be accompanied by thunderstorms at several parts of the State.

“Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places over north Odisha along with heavy rainfall at one or two places over south Odisha during the next 24 hours,” an IMD bulletin issued late last night said.

The IMD bulletin also sounded thunderstorm and lightning bolt alert for Angul, Balasore, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara and Nayagarh districts. People have been told to shift to safe locations in these six districts during heavy rain and possible strike of thunderstorm and lightning.

Meanwhile, intermittent rainfall lashed several parts of the State starting this morning with a few places receiving heavy rainfall.
